A ring is the piece you see most often on yourself, so it should feel right on the hand as well as in the case. Some are bought as an everyday gold ring, some as a gift for a birthday or anniversary, and some to go with a wedding set.
Styles in the cases
- 22ct gold rings: the deep yellow of 916 gold, in plain and patterned designs. Traditional favourites for weddings, pujas and Diwali.
- Dress rings: bolder designs with open lattice, flowers or swirls, made to be noticed.
- CZ rings: gold rings set with sparkling cubic zirconia, in 9ct, 18ct and 22ct. A beautiful look for less than diamonds: see our CZ rings page.
- Diamond rings: engagement and dress rings, each with a Certificate of Authenticity. See diamond engagement rings.
- Wedding bands: plain and patterned gold bands, to wear alone or beside an engagement ring. See gold wedding bands.

Choosing the carat
Every gold ring we sell is stamped with its purity: 916 for 22ct, 750 for 18ct and 375 for 9ct. 22ct gives the richest colour and is the traditional choice. A ring rubs against everything you touch, though, so many women choose 18ct or 9ct for a ring worn every day, or for one set with stones, because the harder gold holds its shape and its settings better. Our post on 22ct vs 18ct vs 14ct gold goes into more detail.
Getting the size right
Fiji, Australia and New Zealand use letter sizes (L, M, N…), while the USA and Canada use numbers. The easiest way is to come in and we'll size your finger. If you're buying from overseas or as a surprise, our printable ring size guide shows how to measure a ring that already fits.
If a ring is not quite right, we do ring resizing. Most plain and patterned gold rings can go up or down a size or two; rings with stones all the way round are harder to change, so we'll tell you before you buy.
Caring for a gold ring
- Take rings off for cleaning, gardening and the gym, and before using hand sanitiser or bleach.
- Store each ring separately so stones don't scratch softer gold.
- Check stone-set rings now and then: if a stone feels loose, stop wearing it and bring it in. We do repairs.
Can't find the one you want?
We take custom orders. Show us a photo or describe the ring you have in mind and we'll tell you what's possible, the cost and how long it takes. You can also trade in old gold towards a new ring: see old gold exchange.

FAQ
Good to know
Can you resize a gold ring?
Yes, we do ring resizing. Most plain and patterned gold rings can go up or down a size or two. Rings with stones set all the way round are harder to change, so we'll tell you what's possible before you buy.
What is the difference between 22ct, 18ct and 9ct gold rings?
22ct (stamped 916) is the richest yellow and the softest. 18ct (750) and 9ct (375) are harder-wearing, which suits a ring worn every day or set with stones, and they cost less.
Do you sell wedding bands?
Yes. We have plain and patterned gold wedding bands to wear on their own or beside an engagement ring. Bring the engagement ring so we can check they sit well together.
Do you make rings to order?
Yes, we take custom orders. Tell us or show us what you have in mind and we'll talk you through what's possible, the cost and how long it takes.
